Couack is a fused glass bird as blue as the sky, sprinkled with touches of red, yellow and green, as if all the colors had wanted to participate in its momentum. This work of Quebec glass art tells a story of daring, passion… and silence transformed into strength.

In the litter, there was no doubt. Couack – whom his parents had originally named Quick – was the biggest, the strongest and, above all, the loudest. He cried louder than the others, longer, higher. A bird with a big mouth, driven by boundless energy.

This bold fused-glass bird was the first to leap from the nest. The first to spread its wings. The first to taste the vertigo of the sky.

Couack soon developed an uncontrollable passion for flying… and for screaming. He flew while he screamed. He screamed as he flew. Higher and higher. Louder. Always farther!

His vocal cords, exhausted, gave way. Couack descended. Winged, intact… but mute. Not a sound. No more cry.

As if the sky had whispered to him:
“Be beautiful… and shut up.”

But Couack never lost sight of the essential.

He lost his voice, yes.
But not his passion.

Still flying. Higher and higher. Silent, but filled with an immense inner fire.
